TOM WALKER JOINS REALTIME SOFTWARE CORPORATION
- - Des Plaines, IL
Tom Walker has been named Vice
President of Sales and Marketing for Realtime Software Corporation.
Mr. Walker has 25 years of distribution experience, which will bring
added value to Realtime's relationships with their customers.
"I'm looking forward to working with Realtime's existing customers
and building new relationships," Mr. Walker said. "As a user of
Realtime Software over the past 25 years in my own business, I've
learned how powerful Realtime's solutions are in running a
productive business. In my former distribution business, I operated
several sites in multiple states with their software. Realtime has
effective products and excellent technical support that keep their
customers running smoothly I look forward to sharing that knowledge
with others."
For the past 25 years, Mr. Walker served as owner and president of
Outdoor Equipment Company, a Chesterfield, MO based golf equipment
and landscape supplier. . Prior to that, Tom sold computers and
software for Escom, a Microdata dealer in Denver, where he began
working with the Pick operating system in 1974. Mr. Walker and his
wife, Donna, spend their vacations in Colorado, where they love to
ski, hike and fly fish.

Realtime - New Audit Control
Listing !
One of the recent additions to the Software Package included the
ability to utilize a new 'U' change line option for 'User
Information'. This option allows users to view a quick audit
listing of which personnel accessed most Maintenance Feature
programs (ie - Inventory Maintenance, Customer Master Maintenance,
Vendor Master Maintenance, etc...) , and also Order
Entry/Adjustments, as well as Purchase Order Entry/Adjustments
programs. See below for an example of an Open Order User Listing
In the above example, we can
see that user Scotty entered this order, adjusted it the first time,
Billed the order out, credited, adjusted it a second time, then
re-billed it, etc.
Utilizing the new Audit
feature capabilities within the software package, you will be able
to not only view the above quick style listing in the Open Order
Inquiry Program, but actually drill down to actual changed details
utilizing a new change line option - AU which stands for Audit
Listing.
This new Audit Listing tracks
individual changes made to Heading Records - ie - Shipping Address,
Order Type, Ship via, SLM1, SLM2, Purchase Order Number and numerous
other items. Line Item changes are tracked as well - allowing
administrators to view the type of information necessary to track
down individual line item changes - even when a line item has been
changed multiple times ! Some example line item changes that
are tracked are Qty. changes, Selling Price changes, Serial Number
changes or additions, Text information addition or changes, and much
more ! See below for an example of an Open
Order User Header Audit Listing where the
numerous items have been changed. (see Old
Value -vs- New Value)
BUT WAIT - - - As if
that wasn't enough -
PLEASE NOTE: It's not just the
Open Order Inquiry that allows these audit change detail listings -
The new Audit features
outlining changes made include, but are not limited to the
following:
Customer Master / Inventory
Master / Vendor Master / most all Background Tables - ie Salesman
Master, Tax Codes, Bank Tables, Chart Of Accounts, Open Orders,
Purchase Orders, and much more !
